YouTube lock play broken in new update

I loved your browser but your new update breaks a feature I have been using your browser for many years to enjoy: playing videos audio when the screen was locked. This is great when I want to go to bed listening to something without killing my battery.

In the past I used to be able to start playing a video in YouTube, lock The screen and then allow the video to continue playing with the screen essentially off. Now whenever one tries to play a video and the screen is locked nothing happens.

I am obviously very unhappy with the new update because of the single change. Please turn it back to how it used to be...thank you
